Lamentation Pt 2

Father I stretch my hands to thee,
You are my only help, this I know.
If you withdraw yourself from me,
Then I have no where else to go.
There is none like you.
No one else I trust to see me through.
No one else I trust to hold my truth.
For with you I feel no condemnation,
With you I forget my shame.
This must be your amazing grace,
That you would show me, oh unclean me, your face.

Infected with un-forgiveness,
A virus, not affecting the immune system
But eats away at salvation.
It is a thorn in my flesh
With stings of unhappiness.
More chronic than asthma, and more frightening than Covid.
For there is no vaccine, no medication.
The doctors cannot diagnose it.
So many suffers from un-forgiveness without notice.
Search me oh Lord for any symptoms of un-forgiveness.
And when you find them, purge me with hyssop. Purge me.

How can I lean on my own understanding
When you are the reason I am still standing?
The heights I have reached and kept
Was not attained by sudden flight
But through the power of the Savior
Who did not pass me by.
Savior, oh blessed Savior
You have heard and answered
My ugly cries.
Laying prostrated across the living room floor:
“It is me, it is me oh Lord—your prodigal son,
And this is my repentant return.
It is me, it is me Father— standing in need of your love.”

There is none like you.
No one else can love my heart like you do.
I can search throughout eternity Lord
And still will not find none like you.
When friends cannot handle my stubbornness,
And my family walked away because of my brokenness
It is you I look to in my weakness.
Time and time again you listen without offense
And you approach me without caution,
No defense
Causing me not to feel scorned because of my imperfection.
Oh, you are indeed the God of my creation.

Scripture Support:
Psalm 61:1-2 “Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
Psalm 34:6 “This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
And saved him out of all his troubles.”
