There he was standing on the right side of the courtroom.
Soaked in sweat and fatigue by uncertainty
He waited for his trial to proceed.
Angels on his right and demons on his left.
His back faced the courtroom doors.
This is the prosecution of the faithful and faithless
In the court room of Heaven.
A cloud descended before the man
On the cloud sat the King of kings, in all His glory.
The Angels acknowledged his presence with “Hosanna”
While demons shrieked and murmured.
The man on trial
Squinted his eyes as he struggles to see the face behind the light
“Order!” thundered the voice from behind cloud.
The heavens fell in deep silence
And the sound of every clock in the world was heard.
The courtroom doors swung open
Causing a loud bang
Like a pot cover falling on the kitchen floor
In a ghost town.
His black, patent leather, red bottom shoes
Click clack confidently on the floor
As he walks in blood and retribution.
His three piece Prada suit was telling his certainty of this man’s demise.
Passing the angels and the demons
He approached the counsel table and stood on the left.
Satan, the notorious prosecutor
Had a briefcase of evidence and charges.
The man and Satan stood on opposite side before the Judge
The Judge read the charges on record:
Envy in the 1st degree
Malice in the 2nd the degree
Un-forgiveness in the 1st degree,
Lust in the 3rd degree,
Stubbornness in the 1st degree.
Stealing in the 1st degree
Lies in the 1st degree
Then Satan stated his offer:
For envy in the 1st degree- No Grace
For malice in the 2nd the degree- No Mercy
For Un-forgiveness in the 1st degree- No Peace
For lust in the 3rd degree- No Restoration in Health
For stubbornness in the 1st degree- No rod and staff
For stealing in the 1st- No Blood coverage
Then Judge asked the man on trial
“How do you plea”?
The man opened his mouth to respond
And the brokenness in his voice cracked the sky.
The angels were humbled and the demons unsettled.
The temperature in the courtroom shifted
There was a consuming heat
And a voice roared from behind the courtroom doors:
A phrase that trembled the whole earth
And echoed among the stars and planets in space.
Even the dead heard it and rose.
Acts 17:31 “Because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”
2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.’
