The Unexpected Move

Don’t expect me to be normal.
I have more forces than the Clash of the Titans
Yet I am not Zeus or Poseidon
But a son of God with greater in me
Than he who is in the world.
Therefore, I have conquered the world,
I overcame homelessness while redefining success.
I survived the bullets—
Fired from the mouth of a broken mother.
So please, don’t expect me to be normal;
My abnormality is the new normal

Don’t expect to see me coming.
Like the wind whistling through the trees
And the sunray penetrating your skin.
Like a crouching tiger and a hidden dragon
I am unpredictable.
Like a wise move, you will not see me coming,
I am transcending barriers
While exceeding expectations.

Don’t expect me to be where you left me.
Bury me as much as it pleases you,
But allow me to let you in on this clue;
Even if you bury me—
I am just a seed being planted.
The next time you see me
I am the world’s tallest tree shading you from the rain.
On my trunk, you brace for rest
My fruits you eat and digest

Don’t expect me to fit in.
We are not parallel, no we are not perpendicular
My thought process and speech are not regular
I speak a different language; I speak tongues
You don’t understand my vernacular.
I am not the Bear in the Big Blue House.
I am Out of The Box,
So when you think of me—-
Think outside the box.

I will always exceed your expectations.
In the game of chess,
I am God’s unexpected move,
You will not see me coming.
I am His strategy;
I am the checkmate move of God.
When dealing with me, expect the unexpected.

Scripture Support: Ephesians 3:20 – Hope – Expect the unexpected “God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.”
